About Ms. Cress

Hello Tiger Families!

My name is Ms. Cress, your Tijeras Creek Elementary school counselor. It is an honor to support you and your students through such important, foundational years of their life-long education. I strongly believe early intervention is prevention and that a holistic education, including students’ personal and social development, provides the best opportunity for scholars to thrive.

I received my Masters of Science in School Counseling through Cal State Long Beach (Go Beach!) and have since become a licensed professional clinical counselor. I have been a counselor for over a decade and truly enjoy working with my students and their families more and more.

My favorite title of all is “mom, and just like you, I love journeying with my kids through each stage, with all the ups and downs and new moments to discover! During my free time, you may find me traveling back to the East Coast to visit family. I have roots in Georgia and Pennsylvania giving me an eclectic sports fandom of Atlanta Braves baseball and Pittsburgh Steelers football. I am also a connoisseur of good sweet tea!

Please never hesitate to reach out! I look forward to being on your team.

Bests,
Katie Cress
