Principal Letter:
Most Inspirational Student Lennix Nicholas
Congratulations to Lennix Nicholas named as the Most Inspirational Student for Tijeras Creek. Lennix has chosen for the award from the staff of Tijeras Creek. She is a fifth grader who has brought joy and happiness to every activity she has participated in. She is a member of our ASB team, a cast member on our school play, and a great mentor to our younger students. She makes our school a better place.
She will be recognized this Thursday by the district at San Juan Hills High. Thank you Lennix for being an inspiration to us all.
Music Concerts Rock at Tijeras Creek
This past week, students in grades TK–3 performed their end-of-year music concerts under the direction of our music teacher, Mr. Miller. These performances provided an opportunity for students to showcase their learning for parents and loved ones, reflecting both their growth and dedication.
Music instruction is a vital component of our curriculum, contributing to a well-rounded education that supports the development of the whole child. Through weekly instruction, students build foundational skills in rhythm, melody, and vocal performance, while also strengthening confidence, creativity, and collaboration.
We are grateful to Mr. Miller for his commitment to providing high-quality music instruction and for creating meaningful learning experiences that enrich our students’ educational journey.
On a side note, the elementary honor concert is this Saturday at San Juan Hills. Congratulations to our honor band, orchestra, and choir members. We are proud of your work also.
State Testing Continued
This is a reminder that our 5th grade students will begin the English Language Arts portion of the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) this week. Testing will start on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
To support your child’s success, we ask for your partnership with the following:
- Ensure your child arrives at school on time during the testing window
- Help your child get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast
- Continue to provide encouragement and positive affirmations
The SBA is one measure of your child’s academic progress. We encourage all students to do their best and approach the assessment with confidence. Thank you for your continued support.
