As we begin our final year at Tijeras Creek Elementary, we are excited to celebrate the incredible legacy of our school while creating one more unforgettable year together. Just like a successful race team, every member of our school community plays an important role in helping our students cross the finish line successfully.

Class Assignments
Class assignments will be available through the Aeries Parent Portal on Monday, August 17 after 3:00 PM.

Arrival Reminders
TK & Kindergarten: Please line up outside your child's classroom.
Grades 1-5: Students will be dropped off in front of the school and walk to the blacktop, where they will meet their teachers. Teachers will be holding grade level signs to help students find their class.
Parents are welcome to walk with their child to the blacktop on the first day of school.
🎉 Spirit Fridays
Join us every Friday morning for our Spirit Assembly on the blacktop from 7:45-8:00 AM. All families are welcome to join us as we celebrate our students and build our school community.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer! We can't wait to welcome our students and families back for an incredible year of learning, growth, and leaving our legacy together.

Kick off the new school year with a sweet treat and some playground fun. This is a completely casual drop-in event. Kids can play, parents can chat, and everyone can say a quick hello to our new school leader, Ms. Soboleski.
📣ANNOUNCEMENTS:
📢Annual Mandated Reporter Training (SB 848) required for Tier 1 Volunteers
Under the provisions of Senate Bill 848, all Tier I volunteers are now required to complete Mandated Reporter training on an annual basis. The requirement is for both current and new volunteer applicants. Tier 1 volunteers may have unsupervised contact with students and can include coaches, field trip chaperones/drivers, and tutors. Tier 1 volunteers undergo a more rigorous process before being approved. This process includes getting fingerprinted through the Department of Justice/FBI and completing Mandated Reporter training annually.
To ensure your volunteer status remains active and compliant, please follow the steps below to complete your Mandated Reporter training through our partner, ASCIP.
- 1. Access the Portal:Click here to visit the ASCIP website.
- 2. Request Access: Click on the link titled “Password Reset and Welcome Email Help.”
- 3. Log In: Follow the instructions sent to your email to log in and begin the course.
If you need support with ASCIP you can submit a helpdesk ticket on their website.
The training must be completed by September 30, 2026. Once you have finished the course, CUSD will be automatically notified. We will update your volunteer profile to ensure your school site knows you are cleared and ready to help. You can check in with the front office to confirm your clearance. Volunteers who have not completed the training by September 30, 2026 will have their Tier 1 status suspended until it is complete.
Back-To-School Health Fair
CUSD Family Resource Center proudly presents the Back-To-School Health Fair from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM on Tuesday, August 11th at Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Del Obispo.
🚲E-Bicycle/Bicycle Districtwide Safety Program
CUSD is committed to ensuring the safety of students who commute to and from school on e-bicycles and bicycles. The District is continuing its partnership with the California Highway Patrol and with Providence Mission Hospital on a proactive approach designed to address student safety concerns, align with DistrictBoard Policy 5142.2, and promote responsible riding practices.
We need ALL Tijeras Creek students who are wanting to ride their bikes to school to complete the CUSD E-bicycle/bicycle Safety Course & Presentation + Permit Application 26-27.
Tijeras Creek has a unique Google form/attestation link. Click on the link to complete the form and get your e-bicycle license. (the requirements for the license are on the attestation form.) Tijeras Creek link
- Students in grades 3-5 may complete the CUSD e-bicycle/bicycle safety course in order to obtain a permit to ride an e-bicycle to school. Students in grades K-2 may complete the CUSD bicycle safety course in order to obtain a permit for a traditional pedal bicycle. For younger students, riding to and from school with adult supervision is strongly recommended.
- Class 3 e-bicycles are not permitted for students under 16 years old. Only Class 1 and Class 2 e-bicycles may be ridden to school for students under 16 years old. Additional information about class 1, 2, and 3 e-bicycles can be found HERE.
- No elementary students may ride a powered scooter/e-scooter to school. You must have a valid driver’s license in order to operate an e-scooter. California vehicle code requires operators of motorized scooters to possess a valid driver's license.
- All students riding an e-bicycle and/or bicycle must wear a helmet at all times. Helpful safety tips for e-bicycle/bicycle riders can be found HERE.
