Principal Letter:

Welcome to the new year!
I hope you are enjoying a restful break. We look forward to welcoming students and families back to school on Monday, January 5, 2026, as we begin the final stretch of the school year and a season filled with meaningful learning and community events.

Below are several important dates to help with your planning:

  • January 13
TK and Kindergarten Round Up Light

  • January 14
Second Grade STEM After School Class begins

  • January 20 to January 23
    College and Career Week

  • January 29 to January 31
    Musical: Seussical the Musical

  • February 14 and February 17
No School for Presidents Day observances

I would like to share a special note about our TK and Kindergarten Round Up Light on January 13. This session is designed for families who were unable to attend the December meeting. We will review the same slideshow, provide an overview of our TK and Kindergarten programs, and answer any questions you may have.

We encourage families who missed the first meeting to attend, and we warmly invite you to share this opportunity with friends or neighbors who may be interested in joining Tijeras Creek. Our school is a true community where students are known, supported, and valued as part of a family.

I hope to see you there, and I look forward to a strong and successful start to 2026 together.

Heart of the Tiger for January- self control and determination

In January, our school will focus on the character traits of Self-Control and Determination.

As we begin the new year and enter the state testing season, these traits support students in approaching assessments with focus, persistence, and confidence.

Self-Control is the ability to manage your thoughts, feelings, and actions so you can make good choices, even when something is hard or tempting.

Determination is the ability to keep trying and not give up, even when something is challenging.

Teaching and reinforcing these traits helps equip our students with essential skills for academic success and everyday life.
