Superintendent visits Tijeras Creek Campus
Two years ago, there was a committee formed called the District Advisory Committee. This group makes recommendations to help our district be fiscally sound. We will have the Superintendent come to our campus to share their results to the families and how that may impact Tijeras Creek.
The times and dates are the following:
- Thursday March 12 at 4:00PM and 5:00PM
- Monday March 16 at 5:00PM and 6:00PM
There is a limit of 24 people for each meeting. Please RSVP on this link RSVP Here I encourage you to attend as we navigate through the future of Tijeras Creek.
Lunch with a Loved One School Wide lunch March 13.
We are just one week away from our exciting events on March 13, and we look forward to celebrating together as a school community.
The day will begin with our Jog-A-Thon, where grade levels will take turns running around the blacktop. This is our school’s largest fundraiser, and the funds raised directly support our students through academic programs and enrichment opportunities.
At 11:45 a.m., students will gather on the blacktop where Ms. Buckingham will share a few words and memories about Tijeras Creek Elementary.
Following her remarks, students will be dismissed to:
- Pick up their lunch from the cafeteria, or
- Meet their loved ones on the grass area for our community picnic.
Families joining us should:
- Bring a blanket and lunch
- Sit in the designated and marked grass areas
Around the grass area, you will also find signs highlighting the history of Tijeras Creek, along with photos that celebrate special moments from our school’s journey.
To add to the fun, we will also host:
- A Tug-of-War competition
- A Kickball game featuring students vs. staff
It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our school, connect as a community, and enjoy the special spirit of Tijeras Creek. We look forward to sharing this memorable day with you.
“A good school is a place where every child feels known, valued, and inspired to learn.”
Let’s have a great Week !

Food & Nutrition News
National School Breakfast Week is March 2-6th! National School Breakfast Week will be celebrated in the cafeteria March 2-6, 2026. The School Breakfast Program provides 12 million breakfasts to children across the country every day. Did you know school breakfasts tend to be more nutritious than the average breakfast from home or a fast-food restaurant? Children that eat breakfast are also more likely to reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math.
March Harvest of the Month: The Harvest of the Month for March is dates! As students learn more about dates and try them in the classroom, we’re serving dates at lunch every Thursday in March. Dates are a delicious naturally sweet fruit. Our dates come from Aziz Family Farms in Thermal, CA - just two hours away from the District.
Unique Fruit Alert: Jujubes: To celebrate March, green produce is dominating the menu! This includes jujubes, or Chinese dates. Jujubes will be on the menu Friday March 6 for National School Breakfast Week.
