Mission Statement: “Together we strive to ensure all students will achieve at or above grade level.”

Jog-A-Thon Afterglow

What a magnificent event we had today.  Thank you to all of our volunteers and PTA for putting together an awesome spectacle for our  “Rock Run”.  The efforts it takes to make this a successful event goes back to weeks of planning and recruiting for today.  The day started for some of our volunteers today at 6:00AM.  As this is our major fundraiser for our school, the monies raised help support our support aides, special events, and assemblies.  We are blessed to have so many kind, generous, and willing volunteers who spend endless hours.  Again thank you from the bottom of my heart,  you are appreciated and valued.

Testing Time is coming
In the next month, we will be having our state tests for grades 3-5.  These tests measure the progress of our students and determine their proficiency in ELA and math. ( (For grade 5 we also assess science).   We will also begin our I-Ready math assessments for grades Kindergarten to 5th grade.  Here are some things to do to prepare for these assessments.

Review Test Formats: Help children understand the structure of the test by reviewing sample questions and practice tests, so they know what to expect.

Create a Study Routine: Establish a regular study schedule that breaks down subjects into manageable chunks, helping students stay focused without feeling overwhelmed.

Encourage Active Learning: Use interactive methods, like flashcards, quizzes, or educational games, to make studying engaging and reinforce key concepts.

Promote Good Sleep and Nutrition: Ensure students get enough rest and eat healthy meals to maintain energy levels and focus during both study sessions and the test.

Reduce Test Anxiety: Foster a positive attitude toward testing by discussing its purpose and reassuring students that it's okay to make mistakes. Practice relaxation techniques, like deep breathing, to help manage stress.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” – Leo Buscaglia

Let’s have a great week.
